DiptyqueI've upcycled an empty candle holder to become storage for my make-up and brushes. The Diptyque candles are not only pretty when they contain a candle, they can also be used for various things after. Thumps up for Upcycling!

Bamboo ToothbrushSo, I have now swapped my toothbrush to one made from bamboo. And the best thing? It's compostable! I'm really happy with my choice of getting a natural toothbrush instead of a plastic one and I feel better knowing that my decision has a little less impact on the environment.
I bought a 4-pack of Brush with Bamboo toothbrushes from here. - Elin Recycle your empty cosmetic packaging!Sometime we feel that we are focusing and getting frustrated with all the things that are not environmentally friendly or sustainable. We sometimes talk about how it drives us mad just thinking about how people consume. Black Friday has to be one of the first days of the year?! People going shopping crazy and they are buying things that they don't really need just because it is cheaper. Saw a YouTube video from the US where a women got arrested because she got in to a fight over a TV. MAD people!
Anyhow, back to where we were going with this. Origins is a great brand to begin with and they have launched a programme where they accept all empty cosmetic and skincare packaging, from any brand! How great is that! And the other day I saw that they have the recycling bins out in the stores here in the UK. Go Origins! For us it is still a quite big step to make our own skincare but we are getting there, slowly slowly. Earl grey and LavenderLavender, relaxing and soothing and the HURRAW lip balm with a scent of earl grey. Never really liked scented lip balms. Especially not sweet or fruity scents, so tried to find one with a natural scent.
Essential oil from Neal's Yard HURRAW lip balm from Planet Organic, also seen it at As Nature Intended (probably in more places as well) VäxbolinThese lovely make-up bags from Växbolin are made in Sweden and are made in linen. The price is 995 SEK which is roughly £85. Definitely on our wish list!
KloraneWhen our normal hair care products ran out we decided to change for natural options without silicon entering into our waters. Using shampoo and conditioner from Klorane for the moment with a lovely smell of pomegranate.
Our favourite shopWe made a visit to our favourite shop in Shoreditch, As Nature Intended. They have things from meat and vegetables to skincare and deserts.
For me, I needed a new deodorant as mine (full with aluminum) is almost empty so it is time to go aluminum free! Goji berries and chamomile tea. Make-up brush cleanerMake your own make-up brush cleaner with only hot water and white vinegar.
Boil water and pour 2 1/2 deciliter (1 cup) into a jar Let it sit for a few minutes and then add two teaspoons of white vinegar into the hot water Dip your brush in and stir around Rinse the brush under hot water and then rinse under cold water Give your brush a nice shape before you let it try flat Nail varnishJosefin got 10 % off her nail varnish when she returned an old packaging from & Other Stories. They recycle all the empty packaging from their beauty products and give a nice little discount to their environmentally friendly customers.
The colour is called "Faison Dust". Desert EssenceDid you know that your deodorant is most likely to contain aluminum? Aluminum is toxic and can increase the risk of cancer, especially breast cancer. We say No to aluminum in our arm pits!
Choose an aluminum free deodorant or you can even make your own. |
