Ugly fruit and vegetables & trains
We throw away 300 million tons of fruit and vegetables each year. Intermarché, the third largest supermarket in France launched 'Inglorious Fruit & Vegetables' to decrease food waste by selling ugly fruits and vegetables that doesn't have the perfect shape for 30 % cheaper. We like! Please do the same in the UK!?
On Friday we are taking a weekend in lovely Paris and we are taking the Eurostar train. We could have gotten a cheap flight, but taking the train will save us both money and time, and it is environmentally friendly. First of all, we would have needed to get to the airport (we usually take the bus as it is cheaper), and you need to be at the airport a bit before the plane takes off, and then when we would be in Paris, we would have needed to get from the airport to the city centre. Takes time and money! Now we are taking the train from St Pancras station and after 2 hours and 15 minutes we will be at Gare du Nord station in Paris.
And if we pass one of Intermarché stores we will definitely get us one of those grotesque apples!
